Happy New Year everyone, we wish You & Your Families a Happy & Healthy New Year...

Some of the new things coming into We Wan Chu for 2012 will be new comforters and linens, six new 15 H.P. Hondas for our Fleet of 25 x 16 ft. boat rentals and new upholstered seats & Captain's Chair in our Pontoon boat fleet... We continue to make improvements and are sensitive to responding quickly and correcting any complaints. We know 97% or more of our Guests seem to be Happy because we don't hear a complaint at all and if we do, we fix it. We have hundreds of happy customers each year and only one or two of them a year do we unfortunately butt heads with, one complaint was the only super messy rental boat that year that we tried to collect a Messy Boat Fee from, the other was a bad person. We are all about Positive Experiences for our Customers and Guests and Friends. It has been our Life and for the most part, Folks staying here benefit from knowing and seeing us during their stay.

Perhaps everyone knows and understands, that renting a Cottage isn't like renting a Condo but Better. If You are a Family with Kids and You want a shot at having them play with other Kids, then We Wan Chu with our large property and Indoor Salt-water Pool & Spa... If You are a couple or group without Kids, We Wan Chu too with our property & Indoor Salt-water Pool & Spa... We Wan Chu's Kids' Fishing Weekends:

Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend. Sponsored by iKidsFishing.com and We Wan Chu Cottages. Open to any We Wan Chu Cottages' rental customers. Kids will have Free use of Kid's Fishing Poles, Free Bait, Free help to catch Fish off the Dock, Free Fishing Seminar and a Free Kids' Fishing Pool Party. We will award every iKidsFishermen a Ribbon (everyone is a Winner) as well as a Ribbon for the Most fish caught & Biggest fish caught off our Dock. We will also have special guests to entertain the Kids as well as a Pontoon Boat shuttle to get every iKidsFishermen an opportunity to Fish from a Boat during the Weekend. A Fun filled Fishing Weekend for the whole Family.

We Wan Chu's Fishing Tournament Cup Weekend: September 22^nd & 23^rd, 2012. Open to any We Wan Chu Cottages' rental customers. Very Cool looking We Wan Chu Cup Trophies / Cup / Mug for largest Bass, Musky, Walleye, Crappie & Perch as well as a 2^nd & 3^rd place "Cup / Mug"in each Fish category. A Kid's (17 & under) & Adult's Division. Free... A Fun filled Fishing Weekend for the whole Family...

We Wan Chu's Fall Festival Weekend / Pumpkin Carving / Columbus Day Weekend: October 6^th & 7^th, 2012. Open to any We Wan Chu Cottages' rental customers. Come and enjoy the Fall at Chautauqua Lake & We Wan Chu Cottages. With two nearby Fall Festivals to go to as well as leaves a changing and many other area Attractions to go to, makes a Fall Weekend a peaceful and fun filled time for the whole Family. We will have our Annual Pumpkin Carving Championship with a Free Pumpkin & Awards & Prizes for every child's carved pumpkin at Saturday's Bonfire (everyone is a Winner).

We are planning other Theme Weekends in 2012 and will be posting these weekends as soon as we know for sure, here on our News and 2012 Cottage Availabilities' pages. All weekends are a minimum three night rental in the Spring or Fall until March 1^st, 2012 before we cut loose the remaining Cottages to a Min. Two Night Rental except ***.

HowToLearn.com has been online since 1996, and has a subscriber list of 250,000 parents, teachers, home schoolers, employers and employees that they are releasing this Top 101 Educational Web sites list too, Today...

A bit breezy Today, 12 - 15 MPH out of the NW... Sure looks like we are almost halfway with the leaves turning colors and with the coming Holiday Weekend (Columbus Day Weekend) looking to be Sweet Weather for mid October is a perfect reason to get out of the house for a Weekend away at the Lake & We Wan Chu Cottages... It is, our Pumpkin Carving Weekend, fun for the Kids and grownups alike...

There are at least a couple of Awesome Fall Festivals in the area as well. Peek'n Peak's Fall Festival is about 40 minutes away and the Grand Daddy of them All, The Ellicottville Fall Festival is about 65 minutes away and both will be Jamming with Super Weather for All...

We want to Thank Everybody that came and went in Peace this Spring & Summer. We are Blessed as You too who were able to spend some Quality Time with Your Family or Friends at Chautauqua Lake and We Wan Chu Cottages... Our reward is the genuine Happiness we see in Your Faces as well as seeing our Friends we have made over the Years...

With the cooler days & nights, Fishing is going to take off here this Week and go forward until our Docks come out the end of October or sometime in November... For anyone considering the Winter rentals we have in #s C3& C4, we will leave in our Boat Launch Dock and three or four sections of our Main Runway until just before Ice forming (maybe through November if we are Lucky and or later if can be...). This way, two to four or more Boats could still be tied up to Poles and a Dock to Fish for Walleye, Pan Fish, Musky & Bass well into November... Just Fish Food for thought... Cottage # C3 is a six bedroom (12 separate beds)with three baths located 45 feet from the Lake... Cottage # C4 is a five bedroom (10 separate beds) with three baths 45 feet from the Lake.... Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy, Fishy...

We are thankful and lucky that we were missed by all of the rains from Hurricane Irene. We have had several calls asking if we were like the eastern part of New York State and All is Good here at Chautauqua Lake & We Wan Chu... Chautauqua Lake is a bit low (normal lake level = 1308.2 feet above sea level) but typical for this time of year. We have had a few really cool nights lately and I believe it won't be long before the Fall Fishing turns back on...

We are very sorry for everyone that was here with us in May, June & July without our New Indoor Pool being Open. We hope that You'all will consider coming back again soon, because the Pool is an Awesome addition to the Property and Your Fishing or Golfing or Vacation experience...

Our New Indoor Salt-water Pool & Spa is now Open...

Our New Pool opening will be delayed due to weather and conditions beyond our control. We have had the wettest Spring / April, up 300% from normal / in recent History and we are still hoping to get'r open by mid June, but it is close... In an effort to accommodate everyone, we have been able to secure Swimming 1.25 miles away at the Chautauqua Institution's Health & Fitness Center / Pool and is available for Free for our Guests. Swimming is 7 - 9 A.M. Monday - Sunday and 5 - 7 P.M. Monday - Friday.

Boat Rentals: Marine Gasoline has gone up to $ 6.00 per gallon, so if you have a current Boat Rental Reservation, please adjust accordingly.

We made some Great Improvements to the Cottages in the past two Fall closings and pre Spring openings...

We tore out "All of the Carpeting" in Cottage #s 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 10, 11, 15, 16, 17 & 18 and replaced it with Fiber Flooring by Tarkett... , as well in Cottage #s A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9, A10, C1, C2, 14 , and the downstairs of #s C3 & C4... ...
This has eliminated 95% of our problems with what people felt, was mildew, but we found out, was the Carpeting... The "Stink" is gone... and their wasn't a problem with C3 & C4 yet, nor all of them needed it either. But we needed to be Proactive and now we are hoping we are ready for our New Indoor Pool (wet carpeting would have added to this problem).
We will be re doing the bathrooms and kitchens next where we may have needed them and can afford too... But we solved 95% of our problems with eliminating the carpeting. It's Huge... and that is why I am writing about it here today...
We put into each Cottage in June & July of 2010 a nice slightly used 27" Flat Screen TV and on the deck a New Picnic Table w/ two benches. We try our best...

We Wan Chu to get to the Bestest Property & Dock on Chautauqua Lake, with a Sweet Fishing wing, Children's sand box, Sandy Bottom Swimming area (Seasonal), Children's Playground, Putting Green, evening Camp /Bonfires (one to two separate fires), Half court Basketball, Sand Volleyball and of course a New Indoor Pool... 2011 Cottage Availabilities

We Have added a New November - February Season in Cottage #s C3 & C4 with a Minimum Three Night Rental including the Pool being available from 10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M daily... Fun Wow...

Milt the Talking Musky has success with an Autistic child...

We will have two Open House Weekends here at We Wan Chu Cottages in 2011 and may add another.

The iKidsFishing Show is the First Kids' Fishing Show in the USA starring Kids Teaching Kids and You How to Catch Fish. Available on DVD...

iKidsFishing^© is a Kids' Fishing Web Site where you can upload pictures of a Child / Kid (any age) with their Fish and sorted by age or species… It will give Kids a chance to compare and show off their Fish Caught with other Kids the same age or younger or older. Sure to be a "Keeper" for generations and vacations to come and one that is Free… Enjoy…

Once a month we will award a 16 ft. Boat Rental Day here on Chautauqua Lake including Boat, Motor & Gas along with an iKidsFishing Show DVD to a random iKidsFishing Picture. Non transferable… No Pets… One Winner per Family. Customers will need to provide a Boat Rental Security to in fact be able to take out a boat. Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy……
