As many of You already know, we finally opened up our new Indoor Salt-water Pool & Spa on August 5th, 2011. It was a life long learning experience in a late way unfortunately but ultimately in a Good way we are hoping. The Salt-water Pool & Spa has a healthier and therapeutic effect on people when swimming or lounging in the two. We hope You will come and stay here so that You too can experience We Wan Chu's greatest asset 2nd to the Lake itself.
Listed on our 2012 Cottage Availabilities to Date page will be typical Weekends in the Spring and Fall and By the Week only Cottage Availabilities during the ten week Summer Season. Beginning May 1st, we will cut loose some of our Weekly only rentals to a Minimum Three Night Rental. Beginning March 1st, we will cut loose most of our Minimum Three Night rental Weekends in the Spring & Fall to a Minimum Two Night rental except for ***. No better time then right now to start planning a Fishing, Golfing & Family Vacation soon.
We have a number of exciting Theme Weekends planed for the Spring & Fall of 2012. By far, the interest level is huge for our Bigfoot Conference Weekend here at We Wan Chu is May 5th with an off site Bigfoot Conference at the Chautauqua Suites, Sunday May 6th. We have four famous Bigfoot Speakers booked, two of which have been on Monster Quest and more Information on this will be posted to our Bigfoot page as we get the time and information to upload it. Pre-Sale Tickets to the May 6th event will be online soon as well. If you are staying here at We Wan Chu that weekend, the May 5th event is Free.
Mother's Day Weekend, May 13th.To all Cottage Guests staying at We Wan Chu, bring a Mom and she gets a Beautiful Plant and a relaxing hot tub / spa and pool to enjoy and relax in while the Dads and Kids are fishing.
Kids' Fishing Weekends (Memorial Day & Labor Day Weekends): To all Cottage Guests staying at We Wan Chu, Free fishing poles for the Kids to use, Free Bait, Free help fishing on the dock, Free Shuttle Pontoon Boat fishing trip to get every Kid here, a chance to fish from a Boat and a Free Kids' Fishing Pool Party... Ribbons will be Awarded to every Kid who tries to catch some Fish as well as to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Biggest Sunfish, Perch, Crappie, Walleye, Catfish and Carp caught. More to come soon.
We Wan Chu Cottages' Fishing Tournament, September 22nd & 23rd. To all Cottage Guests staying at We Wan Chu Cottages = Free. Up for Prizes 1st, 2nd & 3rd are Very Cool custom hand made Mugs from a Pottery in Bemus Point. An Adult and a Kids' Tournament Division and Trophy Mugs for Bass, Musky, Walleye & Pan Fish... Too much Fun and too little time to do it all...
As most of You know already, Pan Fishing, Bass & Musky Fishing are very very good here on Chautauqua Lake. We have seen fishermen and fisherwomen with their catches or pictures on their phones of their caught or catch and released Bass & Musky. Pan Fishing is strong all Spring long as well as the Catch & Release Bass Season prior to the Opening of Bass & Musky on the 3rd Saturday of June. Then it is Bass & Musky Fishing all Summer & Fall long with Pan Fishing usually strong all the time. Walleyes are still elusive but we heard of more being caught in 2011 then years prior. The scoop we heard on the water was when fishermen were trolling for Muskies with the Big Lures and they slowed down to 1.5 - 2 M.P.H. was when they were catching 28"+ Walleyes... Nice... The bottom line is when considering Fishing Destinations with an Awesome Dock to Fish or park your boat on or Rental Boats available with Great Fishing right out in front, it is easy to come back to We Wan Chu Cottages and we hope to See You too...
Our Boat Rentals are getting some new improvements. The Pontoon Boats will be getting reupholstered this Winter... Our 2007 Pontoon Boat Fleet (seven) have all Rubber flooring on top of Treated lumber and a 50 H. P. Honda, both of which should last 3 or 4 lifetimes of Seats... Thus, this is their First Re-do, Fleet wide on the Seats. Last year they all got New Boat Seat Covers, awesome GPS / Depth / Fish Finder and the three 25 ft. Fishermen got new Corner Bucket Seats (four per boat). We appreciate Your Business and hope you will come back and rent one of our 16 ft. SV or SSV 16 Lunds with either an 8 or 15 H. P. Honda or one of our fleet of 22 or 25 ft. Pontoon Boats w/ 50 H. P. Honda and "No Rent Me" signs on them, Priceless but very reasonable & affordable. A One Day including Tax and a Full Tank of Gas = 16 ft. w/8 H. P. = $ 75.00 + Security + Parking (or not). A 16 ft. w/ 15 H. P. Honda = $ 85.00 + Security + Parking (or not). 7:30 A.M. First Come -First Served until 5:30 P. M... Pontoons are typically $ 275.00 + Security + Parking (or not) for a One Day Rental, anytime after 7:30 A.M. until 5:30 P.M. Milt has had success with an Autistic six year old boy who for the first time ever, attempted speech after watching Milt The Talking Musky. A four minute Sing along karaoke kind of song which teaches 86 Sight Words within the Music & Text of the Song and a 2 minute read along and hear along Alphabet of the A - Z and a - z sounds... We are seeking a Sponsor to fund an iPad App for Autism for Milt The Talking Musky, like the ones used in a 60 Minutes segment back in October, 2011. Then maybe, Milt's Magic will help more children everywhere...
