Q: If I rent a boat from We Wan Chu and am staying somewhere else, do I have to return the boat every night before 5:30 P.M...?
A: No, it just has to be back by 5:30 P.M. on the last day.
Q: If I am staying somewhere else and wish to come and go from the We Wan Chu Cottages' Dock, can we...?
A: Yes you can, but along with a vehicle parking fee, you can only
access the boat during Office hours (7:30 A.M. until 6:30 P.M.) until
5:30 P.M. on the last day of the rental.
Q: Do I need a Safe Boater's Course Certificate to rent a Boat...?
A:
No. You need to be 18 years of age or older, but it is always a Good
Idea to sometime in Your Life, obtain a National, New York State or one
from Your State's Safe Boating Course. Everyone who wishes to drive a
Personal Water Craft (PWC) / Jet Ski needs a Safe Boater's Certificate
to drive PWCs in New York State. (No we do not rent Jet-skis...).
Q: If we are staying at We Wan Chu, do we need to have the boat rental back on the dock by 5:30 P.M...?
A: You can use the Boat rental beginning anytime after 7:30 A.M. on the
first day of the rental until 5:30 P.M. on the last day of the rental.
You may use it until legal Sunset or after with running lights
(optional rental for the 16 footers and included on the Pontoon boats)
from Sunrise or before with running lights until 5:30 P.M. on the last
day of the rental.
Q: If I am staying someplace else with a Pet, can we have the pet on your rental boats...?
A: Yes you can as long as You do not bring the Pet onto We Wan Chu
Cottages' Property or Dock. So if you pick up your Pet at another Dock
and drop the Pet off prior to returning to We Wan Chu's Dock, you are
OK as long as there has been no accidents.
Q: Why did You start charging for vehicle parking for Boat Rental Customers not staying at We Wan Chu Cottages...?
A: We have obviously feel we have the best 16 ft. Boat Rental Fleet on
the Lake as well as Pontoon Boats without any "Rent Me" signage on
them. With the Cottages being the "Big Picture" in life and the limited
parking we have on site during the High Season (Memorial Day - Labor
Day) has forced us to come up with an alternative to keep the Cottage
Customers Happy.
